This might not be cool enough for most but consider my drone is parked in front of a flashing red light on a fairly busy road.  I am looking at the sign...then I turn on traffic if disturbed.

Yes, the pole barns will be first to arrive like the tripods.  Then the Skynet becomes self-aware.    See I turn: still the sign about pole barns and traffic looming.
