Is it generally acceptable to use the battery up to the point where it forces you to fly home (30%) and then turn it off and charge it (after it cools down of course)?

Or are you supposed to use the battery until it reaches below 5% with each use?

Today my battery told me I needed to use it until below 5%, even though the discharge countdown said 10 days.

I want my batteries to last obviously, so any useful advice regarding battery care is greatly appreciated.
