The Kopana Saltworks in Nea Lampsako, Evia is one of only 14 organized saltworks of the Greek state that operated until the end of the 20th century.

In an area of about 100 acres, the moisture of the seawater collects and evaporates, leaving the salt behind.

Kopanas Saltworks is an important natural monument.

It is a place where nature and man work together to produce one of life's most basic goods.

It is a popular destination for visitors to Evia. Visitors can walk or cycle around the Saltworks.

There must have been a thriving industry there at one time Tasos.  I've seen similar installations in France, still in use.  Great footage from the drone
