I've been looking into getting the Phantom 3 standard. I know that the Phantom 3 advanced/professional has brushless motors. I was wondering if the standard did too. Anyone can help?

The standard does have brushless motors.  Apparently they are slightly different than the original Professional and Advanced motors but in the future they will all have the same motors at least based on the 4-5 articles I read.

The battery life difference can be attributed to the motor change (slightly) but mostly by the omission of lightbridge and something they were referring to as VPS.  I don't know what that is.

I'm so new my shrink wrap is still on.

You would be hard put to find a UAV that does not use brushless motors, they are the standard these days.
