Hi there,

I cannot seem to unlock any geo-zone near me for my Mini 4 Pro? I have successfully done this twice since christmas, however today when I went to look at the UK map to select my local zone, no zones at all are showing on the map for me to select.

I have tried using another browser, I have tried using my phone browser, I have also tried on Wi-fi and off of Wi-fi.

Is this an issue for anyone else and lies with DJI or is it just myself for the UK map?

Hi there. Please make sure the remote controller and aircraft can receive a GPS signal. You may also check the said location on this link DJI GeoZone Map. Once you are in a restricted zone, you may unlock the specific location using this link https://fly-safe.dji.com/unlock/unlock-request/list. If this doesn't help, please post a photo showing the issue for us to further check. Thank you very much.

No geo zones are showing, I’ve tried multiple browsers and devices. I can’t take off because I am in an authorisation zone, yet when I go to the unlock map no zones at all are showing.

Hi there. Are you indoors? Please try going outdoors to check whether the remote controller and aircraft can receive a GPS signal. Thank you.

This is on my phone, I usually go on the website and setup the authorisation. No zones are showing for me to select however.

This is happening for myself as well. United kingdom geo zones are not showing at all on map.  I’ve replied to a previous ticket with same information. Something with the map has happened.  @DjiTony have there been map updates recently which may be causing this issue.

Hello there. I just got an update. The European Union has implemented new drone regulations on January 1st, 2024. The new regulations require drone manufacturers to have the ability to support the integration of official warning area data. the DJI GEO System cannot conflict with the new regulation, so it has been decided to gradually remove the no-fly zones in EU countries.

There was a big change to the FlySafe app over the weekend; most Geo-zones are now removed and only airport FRZs remain.  This is for the UK and many EU countries.

I guess I will need to wait now for CAA updates to be able to fly in my area like i used to be able to.

Hi, Drone operators are required to consult the geo-fencing restrictions to check if it is safe to fly in the current airspace before each takeoff and comply with them before and during each flight.

I have the same issue.

No way to unlock areas that are nearby.  I can't take off when near the zones.

Hi there. It is required to check the geo-fencing restrictions to confirm if it is safe to fly in the current location before launching the aircraft and comply with them before and during each flight.

An update on this. I tried to fly my DJI drone & failed to unlock. I received the code but after confirming, this was denied.

Hi - am curious - am in NY, got the authorization from the FAA for the unlock, the unlock worked and after 30 seconds it stopped working. Any solution on how to fix this?

Very true I have a lake out back and guy has seaplane here for a few weeks a year ,I have to unlock Everytime I want to fly in my own yard ,getting sick of it .Be nice if I could get a year pass instead of 3 days at a time.If I knew about this hassle before hand I would have not invested in DJI drones.

this is an absolute mess. I too have now got this problem and unable to click on the map to select the area even though i have approval from Leeds/bradford airport. seems all you get is copy and paste replies from dji staff on here. weird thing is i was able to just tick all 3 boxes before and it unlocked for me but now in the last few months i cant do any little jobs for estate agents there. Dji should not be interfering with this process at all imo and just let us fly there and the people that dont have approval and get caught can get a fine. why stop everyone flying?

I agree with Alex  I'm not going to ask dji if and when I can fly my drone so will be sending mine back for refund

Natalia, thank you for your reply.  What i would ask is to put this geo rules in your advertisement so customers won't be fooled into buying your drone.... Honesty is the best thing for everyone...

So this is still being collected regularly misunderstood.

DJI are not giving you permission. They do just have the authority to permit flying in restricted areas.

Unlocking a DJI Geo Zone has never given you permission to fly in restricted areas. Because DJI do not have the authority to give you permission to fly in restricted areas.

When you unlock a Geo Zone YOU tell DJI that the RELEVENT AUTHORITY has given you permission to fly on the restricted area. YOU MUST obtain that permission from the RELEVENT AUTHORITY prior to requesting the unlock and explaining you have permission.

So many people.on here misunderstandung this that there must be SOOOOO many illegal flights going on.

No wonder the rules changed and DJI removed the misleading functionality.

I'm sorry but I have no idea what you are saying,  I do not live in a restricted area nor do I want to fly in a restricted area. I just want to fly and take videos and pictures. Like most everyone that spends a lot of money for drones.
