Timelapsed a snow storm today and early on the lens was covered with snow.  Any tricks or tips to help avoid this? Thanks.

The only thing comes to mind is try to point the camera in the same direction of the snow fall. This way the snow will come from behind the camera - sort of. You could even add some barrier, like a wood plank, plexiglass, maybe an umbrella, etc behind the camera to block any snow. Of course if there's no wind and the snow falls vertically, well, bummer. You could put the camera under an umbreall in this case, but considering the wide angle lens, maybe some part of the umbrella might show. And if there's a strong wind, you might need to really thighten the barrier down.

You could try applying a small amount of Rain-X onto the protective glass. It works really well on car windshields. If there's any coating on the protective glass, you may want to get an extra one just for this purpose.

for water we spit to stop the fog, we  also use rain-x, a fish oil,  if not done right leaves a film if  audo is not the issue, then put a usb fan  so it blows away off hte lens
