Dumb question but is F mode as stable as P mode? Kind of leary about switching modes mid flight!

yes it is just fine

A-mode is the only unstable mode since it does not use GPS or VPS to stabilize the Phantom's position.

unstable only in the sense that u dont have any flight aides such as gps. not unstable as in unstable!!! if practiced enough times it is just fine too!!

well bat, sometimes it is better to be clear and brief

F mode is the same P mode but with new features in it, both of them are stable.  If something goes wrong while you doing your POI, Waypoints of follow me, switch to P-mode is the way to go.   A-mode is Atti (no GPS) Practice it, but be careful, aircraft will have no brakes
