Hello DJI Fans,

liveview shows color changes before and after pressing record button.

Is it the same with all of your DJI Pocket 3? Very good visible on grey material. Video Link:

Any ideas why the colors are changing. When liveview without record pressed it's greenish and when record button is pressed this greenish cast is not visible.

So with these color changes how to set manual whitepoint when in record mode it is a different kinda color schemes is showed...?

Greetings

Dan

Thanks @DJI Paladin.

I try to make a better video. I took photo with two brand new Osmo Pocket 3. Here it's easy to see that colors totally change when record or when not recording. That makes absolutely no sense. Old Osmo Pocket 1 didn't do that. Osmo Action 1 AND Osmo Action 4 didn't do that. What's happening with Osmo Pocket 3 here... Now I tested two further ones. All together 4 Osmo Pocket 3 that have this same strange behavior.

So my two DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and show this strange behavior. It's extremely visible in a more dimmed environment. All grey objects in liveview show a green/yellowish warm tint but when pressed the record button this yellowish warm tint is gone. Colors change to a colder tint. A good and easy manual whitebalance isn't doable this way. Maybe it's a energy saving in the background from DJI engineering wanted. But DJI, have you seen a camera that changes colors between liveview and record view? Never seen this. The colors change too much between liveview and the view when you record. That's not a good way of using a camera.

Hi there. Thank you for patiently waiting. Upon further investigation, it is found that this is normal. That is because the video processing methods before and after recording are different, which means the white balance, frame rate, exposure, etc. of the image view will be different, and the environment where you test has a low light, which will also affect the actual performance. We suggest testing it outdoors to check it further. Hope this helps.

Thanks for clarify this strange behavior. Luckily DJI Osmo Pocket 1 and Osmo Pocket 2, Action 1 and Action 4 and DJI Mini 3 do not show this crazy behavior. We have tested them against the Osmo Pocket 3. Here whitebalance stays same before recording and when recording is started.

So may you should tell buyers before, that all these details and especially whitebalance is shifting that much before recording. No words in manual or somewhere else.

I checked with gopro 11 and Sony ZV-1 now too. Also not this bad behavior.

So you have to start recording and set whitebalance only when recording. You have delete record and than you can start with initial record. That's a long and windy road to use a smart camera like the DJI Pocket 3

No problem. It happens with two further other Dji Pocket 3 the same. So it is a general problem. No need to check a video. Take your own product please. Gray environment shows it easily and you see the problem. @DJI Paladin

Otherwise you have pictures and video from me. So it's really really easy to understand this problem when you like to.

Bit disappointed about this. But yeah...

@DJI Paladin Did you test it and see what we see? In gray environment or when it's getting a bit darker outside? May development sees a away to disable the battery saving mode for these situations. So the balance of color before and after starting a record stays persistent?
