Hello,
The SD card (64 Gb) formatted in the Mini 2 cannot be read on my PC (running on Windows 11).
It is not recognized by the PC card reader.

This makes it troublesome to transfer drone photos to the PC.

Is that a known issue ?
Thanks.
Marc

Hi, Marc 74. Have you already tried using a different card reader, or using a different microSD to confirm where the problem is?

Hello,
Thank you for your answer.
I have tried with another card, and a different card reader, it is the same issue.
When the card is connected to the PC (directly in the card reader), I can see in the disk manager of the PC (see screenshot, sorry it's in french). I cannot assign a drive letter to it.
Thanks.
Marc

Hello there. It may be an issue with the computer itself. Please check if the issue will persist after using a different computer. Thank you for your patience.

Hello, yes, the problem is the same on another computer.
I wouldn't ask here for help if problem was obvious.
I think it's a real compatibility issue with the way the Mini 2 formats the card, using exFAT filesystem, and a PC under Windows 11 (or 10, or 8). Is this even supposed to work ?
Thanks,
Marc

Not sure if this helps, but... I have a dash cam that records in 1080p. When I try to open it on my IMAC it wont as its incompatible. I then pen it on a PC, transfer it to a memory card, put it in the IMAC and it opens.  confusing but TA DA.

There's something odd about formatting in the drone.
There are also  issues with formatting in the drone preventing data recovery software from working on the SD card.

So just format it in the computer.
It works fine that way ... There's no reason not to.

Interesting, the cards I have in my Mini 4 and RC2 , both formatted by the RC2, can both be read by my windows 10 laptop, either by an SD card holder for the micro SD card, or by a card reader plugged into the USB C or A port. The same cards, when inserted into my Integra goggles and formatted by the goggles are no longer detectable by my windows 10 laptop.
If I turn on and plug in the goggles to the laptop with a usb C to C or C to A cable, windows 10 immediately detects and reads the card as a drive.
The cards are either Sandik Extreme Pro 128 or Extreme Plus 256 gig cards, and all function perfectly.

Hi. Thank you for patiently waiting. If the Mini 2 always formats the SD card abnormally, may we please know what microSD card are you using and when the formatting was done? It is suggested to use an SD card from the recommended list on the DJI official website: https://www.dji.com/global/support/product/mini-2. The aircraft log is also requested. You can get it by connecting the Mini 2 to your computer, launching the DJI Assistant 2, choosing "Log Export" and then clicking "Save to local". The final exported data are ".dat" files. You can upload it to Google Drive and then send us the link. We appreciate your patience.

Hello,
My SD card is supported by the mini 2 (64 Gb SanDisk Extrem V30 A2.
I was able to fix the problem this way : formating the SD card using the "SD Memory Card Formatter" by sdcard.org, then insert it in a RC-2 controler, format it again by the controler, then insert it in the Mini2. It can now be used by the Mini 2, and is recognized by the PC.

I use a MacBook for all my transfers.  Never have any issues.  But I have tried a Windows 11 machine and haven't had any issues either.

I have the same issue, cannot read the sdcard on a computer or with an android phone connected to the drone with usbc-usbc cable, both tell me there is a problem with the card and it needs to be formatted.

Quick transfer doesn't work with the Mini 4k

Transferring via the remote takes forever and continually gives error message about failed download

I really thought DJI was a decent make but it's riddled with bugs and doesn't do as it should

But other users don't have this problem, so that's probably not correct.
Have you tried formatting the card in the computer rather than in the drone?
Have you considered that the SD card might be the problem?
Have you tried a different card to see if that solves your issue?

I'm not sure if the drone can even handle exFAT... Format the SD card on the PC with FAT32 and check if the drone accepts the card and saves videos to it. If so, the problem is solved.

I always format my SD Cards in my Win 11 PC or Win 11 Laptop. In just less than 4 years, I have only had 1 issue where a card failed, and that was a Kingston 64gb card from Dji. They happily replaced it of course. I've had no other instances of failures to format/read and I download my cards  after flying 99% of the time. Sometimes leave it till next day.

" nobody else has the problem"

Weird since when I searched Google for DJI drone sdcard issues I got this and other posts stating it is a problem.

Weird that if it's not a problem but people say don't use the format card function built into the firmware, use a windows pc ?

Strange that I can't just connect the drone directly to my android phone and download video as stated in the instructions then simply format the sdcard on the drone to get rid of all the stuff I've downloaded

Seems strange all of this isn't a problem, but hey ..

Have you tried a different card to see if that solves your issue?

Or do you just want to continue to have an unsolvable imaginary problem?

Hi there,

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing.

This seems like an MicroSD card faulty. Is the SD card is in the Supported SD Cards list? Please check the Recommended microSD Cards at this link to confirm; https://www.dji.com/hk-en/support/product/mini-2

Step 2: To help us pinpoint the problem, please try using a different microSD card and see if the issue persists.

We are looking forward to your response for further assistance. Thank You

I have the same problem as the original poster. And it cannot be blamed to the SDCARD because it happens also with the internal 8GB storage of the Air 3.
After formatting the drones storage from the remote it seems to work. I can record and download to the remote. But the storage is not recognized by Windows when connecting the drone by USB.

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Could you confirm whether this issue is occurring solely on internal storage? If yes, this issue is related to the USB mobile disk drive of the computer. We recommend that you reinstall DJI Assistant 2 and ensure that the internal drive package is completely installed. Please disable any antivirus programs/security guards during installation. If the issue persists, we recommend that you try another computer if available. Please let us know if the issue persists.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

Formatted drones internal 8GB storage and the 32GB SDCARD usingt the 'Format' command in the RC2.
Then plugged the drone to a Windows computer using USB. Two messages popped up. Both drives need to be formatted.
Reading the SDCARD with two different USB card readers gives the same errror.

There is a firmware problem in the Air3 and probably other drones. It does not write a valid format.

If formatting is done by windows it will work. No matter if I use an externel USB card reader or if the drone acts as card reader, as long as the formatting is done by windows, it works.

Interesting problems.. I had an issue that began with the wrong SD card. I purchased one on the "recommended" list and my Mini 2 SE drone recognized it. Unfortunately, my windows 10 PC and card reader did not. I discovered somewhat by accident when I was using a USB port on my PC to charge up the battery in my drone and the PC recognized the drone as a USB storage device. I was able to download all the video/photos from the SD card to my PC..

That sounds like your card reader is the problem.
Everyone else has no problems at all copying their images across by putting the SD card in a $3 USB adapter and putting that in the computer.
