Since the original Audio Adapter is pretty expensive in my opinion, are there 3rd party alternatives, which work?

Thanks, but I need charging and audio at once. Don't want to fiddle around with changing batteries all the time

I can confirm this one works.  Audio from my airplane radio/intercom system feeds into camera sensed as a microphone and power feeds in to keep the camera on and charging.

I tried this one Belkin Rockstar and it works with both TRS and TRRS. The audio quality is good and fast charging also works.

Can I ask one more question?
You got any Microphone recommendation for USB C?
Or should I just go with the Rode Videomic and some Audio to USB Adapter?

If the rode is fine, you got any recommendation for an USB C to Audio Adapter as well?

edit: Ah sorry, I just saw that you posted another one Andreas. So I will probably go with this one instead of the double USB

I tried this one Belkin Rockstar and it works with both TRS and TRRS. The audio quality is good and fast charging also works.

Tried this out, but it doesn't work for me, and I'm suprised that it worked with your setup.
As far as I understand, the 3.5mm Jack is only output (for headphones) and no input.

It's charging but it doesn't recognize my Microphone. I will go with the 2x USB-C I'm afraid

I checked the adapter again and found that it works, but only with TRRS plugs. The microphone then also works.

Alright. Thanks for testing one more time.
I just ordered everything (the USB-C one, Adapters and different cables) and will try around tomorrow, what fits best.

Thanks a lot one more time to lutzmix and Andreas.

I tested around a lot now with the Belkin Adapters (2x USB-C and USB-C + Audio) and I found that the USB + Audio is by far the best in terms of audio quality.

With the 2x USB-C Adapter I get a lot of white noise, even if I think it's about the USB-C to Audio Cable. I feel like it depends A LOT on which USB-C to 3.5mm Cable you take.

I tested 2 different cables and they both were horribe. One was like the Sound Quality of my Sony Erricson K750i a long time ago

I will stick with the Belkin Rockstar USB-C + 3.5mm Audio and a TRS -> TRRS Cable, I'm very happy with this setup.

If we accidentally meet some day somewhere, I will owe you a beer or two.

The thread can basically get closed.

Røde microphones and DJI action cameras don't mix well!

you can try also the Hama splitter

I didn't test it with the rode.
I got a Sennheiser MKE200 instead, since I was horribly annoyed by the bad wind-performance (and the bigger size) of the rode.

The Belkin Rockstar dongle has much better components than any Hama dongle I have. The audio quality clearly reflects this, both on the microphone side and on the headphone side. The Hama dongle I showed with the aluminum housing has such a high noise floor that I couldn't use it at all. The Hama USB-C to 2x USB-C variant is usable if you have a good USB-C to TRS/TRRS dongle (e.g.: BOYA BY-K4).

Important information for Motovlogger: The BOYA BY-K4 amplifies the audio signal from the microphone more than all other dongles I have tested and in my opinion is only suitable for insensitive microphones, at least in the helmet. The Purple Panda with the OA3 is already critical with the BOYA BY-K4. With the OA4 it is feasible but not ideal. With the Belkin Rockstar, the Purple Panda and the Rode Smartlav+ can be used with both the OA 3 and OA4 in the helmet.
