I think the two front cameras in Goggles 3 are made for improved head tracking. The current head tracking is inaccurate as it relies on gyro and, psssibly, on compass.
Cameras make head tracking more usable, similar to Meta Quest 3, for example. With cameras, one can track not only left-right or up/down movements, but, may be, head tilts as well.

I'm still not sure why they need two cameras. One should be enough for head tracking. Any thoughts?

Do you need 2 cameras on googles for that? Or one is enough?

2 cameras are needed for stereoscopic images. So two is better than one.

Hopefully they will let you see around you when you're flying so no one can creep up on you or your spotter wander off.

Another possibility is 3D hand tracking like in Meta Quest 3. So, one could control Avata with bare hands instead of remote. There is an infinite amount of gestures that, in priciple, can allow quite fine movements.

They already did something like that with Spark and Mavic air. No-one want to control a drone with gestures. It is unsafe. You cannot terminate the flight like EASA required. Drones are not toys.
Otherwise, why with a manual drone? These kind of features are more suitable with stabilized drones. With a lot of sensors.

Interesting info, indeed. So, is the surround image stereo? I wonder how stereo and regular images look combined in PIP mode.
