Checking back in with Steele Farms after getting them at silage late in 2023, we catch up with morning feeding with 250 dairy cattle in the big house with hefiers and dry cows as well. Working with the Ford 7610 on the Strautmann VertiMix 1700 diet feeder making ration of silage, straw and home grown barley mix. Loading the diet feeder is the JCB TM420s with the SlurryKat Sheargrab.

Steele Farms are milking 250 cows split between the two sides of the shed with 2 robots per side.

How many cattle is that you have to feed?

Steele farms has this process down pat.  That one bull was very vocal.  Very nicely filmed and narrated.  

Interesting stuff but what are the collars on the cows for ?

they are used to track the cows via the robot via rfid...

so milk/frequency/etc all through the colour

I'll take your word for it.  We had several bulls on the farm I grew up on and they were not softies.  They were very aggressive and love to charge at anything that moved.

We raised a few nut jobs that ended up going to the rodeos for bull riding.
