So if I want to use my RC2 to fly my Air3 using Goggles 3 the Goggles  must be connected to a mobile phone running the djifly app?  Doesn't  sound too appealing to me.

When using the DJI RC 2 to fly with your DJI Air 3 and DJI Goggles 3, you don't need to have a separate mobile device to run the DJI Fly app as the DJI RC 2 is already equipped with the DJI Fly app. If your aircraft is already linked with the remote controller, you only need to link the aircraft with the goggles. Just read that with the Goggles 3 you lose many functions of the air 3. Mainly you can't switch to 3 or 9X cameras....and a host of other crippling things.  Returning promptly..Why make these compatible and then cripple functions?

That would be very bad indeed. Good to know. I recently purchased the Avata 2 and had planned to use the goggles 3 with my air 3, but if this is the case then the goggles will only be used with the Avata 2, Crazy that they would do this.
