A very handy spot at which to practice your moves. The video quality seemed better until you came lower. Was that still at 30FPS?

That was still 30fps,  Ive also posted the un stabilised footage for comparison.

It was really easy to do,  the maker of gyroscope has knocked out a great product and it's free.

Do you apply it to the recorded footage, or is it an add-on to the drone software?

The drone can do it internally or you can do it externally in some free software,   I posted the tutorial I used in the tutorials section.   Basically it uses the gyro data the drone saves in the video file to smooth out the footage.

Yes,   looking at it carefully it's hard to believe one guy wrote it and is giving it away.

You probably see that it's zooming in and out. Sometimes that seems a bit obvious. Then you can turn up the time it takes to zoom to make it less noticeable. But you need to add music!

True,    it was just a quick test after all,   one thing that was disappointing was I could fly around that track low down,  it didnt have enough penetration to stay connected.

Cool footage DA.    Very noticeable difference between stabilized and non-stabilized.  Once you get Acro mode conquered you'll be able to get low and run the track just like a moto-crosser.

I had a couple of full manual flights,   dirty birds suggestion worked out well.   I didnt fly too long manual before I lost it though and it wasnt the best place as there were cables too close for my liking in manual mode.

Well, at least you have pretty much abandoned the training wheels and getting adept at FPV flying.

My nephew would be impressed with that track it doesn’t look to muddy - great flight

thanks.   Still just getting a feel for it and Ive been flying it some crazy winds this week so most of my footage is skewed 45 degrees.

Not bad at all.  I figured you'd get it airborne as often as the weather permitted.

Not that impressed with the range of it to be honest,   it doesnt seem to be half as good as a mini 3.

I read a few comments on a YT video about Avata 2 seeming to have short range.  However, I don't know if that was because they were using the MC3 or the RC3.  I'd think the RC3 would have a stronger signal as it should have larger antennas.

The RC3 and MC 3 are both just bluetooth devices and they relay the signal via the goggles now,  it's a change they made in this version of the product to help reduce the price.

So then the signal strength will be the same no matter which of the 2 you use.  The goggles do seem to have large antennas so I wonder if it is a power problem based on CE compliance.

Sorry to hear that.  However, per Depp crashing your FPV drone is a rite of passage to FPV flying.  Hopefully, the damages were cosmetic only.  I think I remember you saying you were going to get Care Refresh.

Well apart from learning the lesson of not having a USB cable in the bag,  I had a long walk to listen for the ESC beeping.     Finally found in long grass where it fell from 250ft.

Good thing that the battery was not depleted otherwise without the beeping it would  have been so much harder to find.  I bet you carry a USB cable with you now.

I nearly rang SWMBOd to get her to bring me a cable,  but even with the location is was deep in the grass and would have been hard to find.
