Quaint old lighthouse. Strange that the trees have been allowed to grow higher around it, possibly obscuring the view of it in some directions.
The lighthouse is old, the trees around are tall, simply because the lighthouse has lost its function, now they light it more often for tourists.

Remarkable views at that location. Does appear as though the tall trees on both sides of the lighthouse would obstruct the beacon's view out to sea.
This lighthouse now attracts tourists on ships using GPS)

Even with great GPS systems a beacon light is important to mariners during extreme weather conditions such as haze or thick fog or at least they are here in the US.

This lighthouse is located in a shallow, sweet bay where small fishing boats sail; in the fog they do not go out into the bay. But you are right, old technologies are the most reliable) Currently, the lighthouse is working again and the trees may have to be trimmed)
