My air 3 no longer vocally says home poing now updated. DJI support told me that it no longer needs to do that, which I find hard to believe. The support man discussed with his team and said you no longer need this to be done vocally and I could do it manually. He acted like the vocal home point notification was going to be discontinued, again hard to  swallow this explanation. Any one else experience this?  thsnks

Sometimes it gets missed by the app but you don't need it anyway.
Just keep an eye on the satellite icon in top right of the screen.
Wait for it to change from red to yellow and then to white.
When it's white your drone has fill GPS reception and has recorded a home point and you are good to go.

@Twilloo, I do not know if the air 3 is supposed to do the following but I would be surprised if it isn't.

With my drones, phantom 3, m2p/z, mini 1/2, the LEDs, that give visual indication of the drone's status, flash rapidly when the home point is updated. It is quite distinctive and I watch for this flash sequence as confirmation of a home point being set.
As I am deaf if have never heard the vocal message.

Additionally you might find that the distance shown in the App is zero until a home point is set

Are you flying the Air 3 with the RC2?  If so, you might want to make sure the volume is turned on and/or check the level as that warning is coming out of the RC2.  You could also refresh via Assistant 2 to see if that helps.

Yes it is the rc2 and the violume is full up. Never used the dji assistant 2 before as I thougt that wss just for drones that were before dii fly. I assume you cannot refresh with dji fly?  thanks for the info.

RC2 and the volume is set to max and I do hear the OA beeping

I can confirm too, after last FW is just skipping the message with HP updating random, from 5-10 starts, one time is just silent...
Is a little strange, as you expect it in order to start climbing...

It is simple, if just does not announce home point updated everytime even when all of the conditions are met and it should announce. When I flew my mp4 just minutes after I flew my air 3 from the exact same location, it announces every time. Your online support just told me that i did not need it.

I do not think that I need it either but I just wanted to know what changed to cause this since it has always worked for the last several weeks and my mp4 works every time wtih the HP announcement.

We apologize to hear that your previous contact with DJI Support wasn't entirely satisfactory. We take customer feedback seriously may i know the support platform/ are you able to provide the relevant number you contacted regards to this previously?

We would like you to follow some troubleshooting steps as below and if upon this troubleshooting issue still persists you can proceed to submit a case to Request Repair Service Online under this link; https://www.dji.com/support/repair

Troubleshooting steps;
1)  Try restarting RC and aircraft and test again (if the issue still persists please proceed with step 2 below)
2)  Reset the factory settings on DJI RC/DJI RC 2.
3)  Use the DA2 software to refresh the RC firmware and test again.
4)  Please make sure it is not muted in the RC and the volume bar is turned up.
