DJI Avata2 RC Motion 3 Problems

Hi all...

Just got my avata2 last week. below is the timeline of the problem

  • Charge all the deivces, turn on, activation and update frimware.
  • Bring out to do the 1st run, turn on the headset, rc motion 3 and lastly avata2.
  • Everything connected but when i press the lock button there is no reaction or beeping sound.
  • Restart and retry still same issues
  • Recalibrate the RC Motion 3 remote
  • All buttons seem working fine except the lock button
  • So what i do is i keep rapidly press the lock button, moving my hand up down left right and all angle
  • At certain angle the lock beep register and the drone started the motor and hover
  • And i flight as per usual and until low battery
  • Land the drone using the joystick
  • Change battery
  • Same issues again lock button no reaction and beeping sound.
  • Refresh all the devices frimware using DJI Assistant Software
  • Try again, also same issues, no reaction and beep sound when press the lock button
  • Somehow lock button have reaction if the RC motion at random angles
  • Manged to fly about 3-4 times
  • Send the avata2 to DJI Service Center
  • Show technical the video of the problem
  • Technical refresh the fimware
  • Technical turn on headset and RC Motion Remote
  • Technical press lock button, got beeping sound.
  • Technical turn on avatar, press lock x 2 and drone motor start, press lock and hold drone hover.
  • Technical repeat test a few times and it work like normal
  • Technical explain probably software/firmware issues
  • Bring Home
  • Test today same problems all over again.....

update

Just received my FPV RC 3.

Link to the fpv headset and just fly as per normal like all my previous drone normally.

So for now if i wan to use the RC Motion 3 this is what i do.
-Turn on FPV RC3 1st
-Turn on RC Motion 2nd
-Take off using FPV RC3
-Once take off turn off FPV RC3
-RC Motion will connect
-Fly as per normal..

If there is , it wont be random times that i can start the motor.

So not sure what is the problem..

So how u resolve?

I just send in my rc motion to the service center.. turn on and try and manage to have some beeping sound when press the lock button after that no more beeping sound

So i left it there for the senior tech to check..

Hi everyone,

I am having the exact same issue as DJR.
The videos he has provided directly mimic my situation. I also have done the following to try and resolve the issue.

- Ensured all devices are fully charged
- Ensured all devices are paired
- Ensured internet signal
- Firmware up to date
- I even used the DJI assistant 2 to refresh the firmware on all 3 devices (goggles, drone and controller)
- There are no warning messages popping up on the screen.
- I've tried keeping the DJI fly app opened on my phone and kept it connected to the goggles to see if that works.
- I have confirmed that I am not in a no fly zone.

The motion controller 3 works in all aspects except starting the drone. I can see the cursor, I can open the 3 additional tabs, up, down, and left to navigate through the settings and options but the lock button does not make any noise as if it is broken, there have been moments where I can get a single beep out of the controller if I angle it just right but to no avail. I've managed to only start the drone 5 times all in all and when I do start the drone, I cannot get it to land using the lock button. I am no engineer but this appears to be a hardware issue with the controller seeing as all other buttons work without issue.

Please advise me of the next steps I should take to resolve the issue.

DJI Singapore service center drop me a whatsapp msg and they decided to change a new set for me..

So once i get it i will post and update to recfm whether bu changing new set can resolve everything..

i went there 2 times...

1st time i went there they refresh the firmware and the guy tested it and it work fine without any weird angle like wat i do and fly as per normal.. so my initial thought probably maybe must refresh a few times or wat.. so i just bring back home with confident that it will fly as per normal.. but its the same problem...

so i bring it to the shop again.. i on the headset on the rc motion manage to get the lock button beep for 1-2 times and it stop beeping... luckily it stop beeping if not they might think im trying to find problem...lol.. so they took the set in for 1 days..the next day they whatsapp me that they will replace a new set for me.

so lets hope it will be back to normal.. if not i have take off using the FPV controller 1st and then use the RC motion to fly..

still prefer to fly with the RC motion..i can control it smoothly rather then the controller...

Is it possible to send in the controller for repair/replacement without sending in the entire bundle?  I have verified that the Controller 3 works perfectly, but the Motion Controller has a bad start button.

I am unable to share any log information as the start button never worked from the factory.  Motors would not start.

Hi there,

Could you check if your firmware is running on the latest version?
If it's not could you try to update them and retry to start the motor.

Use one of the following methods to update the firmware:
1. Use the DJI Fly App to update the firmware for the entire set of devices including the aircraft, goggles, and remote control device.
2. Use DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) to update the firmware for a single device.

Using DJI Fly
Power on the aircraft, goggles, and remote control device. Make sure all the devices are linked.
Connect the USB-C port of the goggles to the mobile device, run DJI Fly, and follow the prompt to update. An internet connection is required.

Using DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series)
1. Power on the device. Connect the device to a computer with a USB-C cable.
2. Launch DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) and log in with your DJI account.
3. Select the device and click Firmware Update on the left side of the screen.
4. Select and confirm the firmware version to update to.
5. Wait for the firmware to download. The firmware update will start automatically.
6. The device will restart automatically after the firmware update is complete.

Upon this update restart your motor.

I have an issue with the avata2 and rc3 no matter what I do with the gumball dial I cannot get the gumball to move in floght or whilst it's on the ground. Any ideas, I can fly out no worries but can't adjust the camera at all
