This fire was just south of Fairbanks, Alaska across a major river. There were a few cabins in this wilderness area surrounded by military training areas. Shot with a DJI Mavic 3 Pro.

From the size of those smoke plumes that must have been a lot of acreage burning.  This was an impressive mix of video, still images, and timelapse.  Superb job on this video digibud.  

What an inferno that must have been!  The timelapse was the most dramatic section.

Thanks all.   I think the fire is around 200 acres. Tiny.  Just east of it there is a 47,000 acre fire which isn't small but we've had 250000 acre fires in AK.

Fingers crossed!

It grew to several thousand acres and now we have another large fire north of us and that's a real tragedy because now we are wedged in between fires and we'll spend even more time in a closed up house with air filters running. Nobody (few) have air conditioning but we depend on being able to at least open our windows...sigh...

There's no danger to us at all.  The big fire (two of them actually)  is 15mi away across a large river. The other fire is a similar distance but there is no way they'd let it get into Fairbanks itself and it's far enough away as to be no real danger.  It's just a huge nuisance with all the smoke in the air. Previously a north wind would clear the air...not so much now .

I can imagine the smoke being a nightmare - especially having to close up the windows to the house. Fingers crossed it dies out quickly

Sorry to hear that.  I was reading an article on wild fires in Alaska.  On average, one million acres burn in Alaska each year.  the article sad that wildfires are a natural part of boreal forest and tundra ecosystems in Alaska. Climate change is increasing the risk of large, frequent, and severe wildfires as rapidly warming temperatures and longer growing seasons affect Alaska.
