Controller 2 needs goggles 2 to work with the Avata 2, if you have goggles 3 you need controller 3.
Ahh was thinking there was a problem with it. When avata 1 came out I bought the combo of 2 batteries charger and remote but never got around to buying the drone I have now just purchased the avata 2 but remote is not available. Ill just have to wait no hurry have never flown these drones …

They changed the remote with the Avata 2, its now uses a bluetooth chipset and talks only to the goggles that relays the control signal. The Remote 2 talks OC directly to the drone.

That would probably explain why the battery in the Controller 3 lasts so long!
FPV RC 2 vs RC 3
346 vs 240 grams
9 hours vs 10 hours operating time
2 batteries inside the handles of the RC instead of 1
What amazes me is that the FPV RC 2 is actually transmitting to the drone whereas the RC 3 only communicates with the goggles so should give you 4,5 hours but by not radioing the drone it gives you 10 :-)
DJI Avata 2 is compatible with DJI FPV Remote Controller 2, DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, DJI RC Motion 2 and DJI RC Motion 3.
Note: All FPV drone is required to be used with DJI Goggles.
