There is a very strange compression error seen on the left side of the screen. Although I understand 60 Mbit is very low for 4K. This one seems like an obvious bug to me.

Any idea?

Not seeing it here, but I normally can't play 4K video on this computer and this one played fine.

yes exactly. it jumps every 8th frame. which shows a compression error.

I mailed DJI about this. But somehow service staff is clueless about this technology. After several mails asking me to try with other PC's etc (which is obviously irrelevant) today I'vegot an email about taking my drone to local service and it will be repaired!!

I dont know how a compression error/bug can be repaired : )

No the shutter speed was not fast. An ND filter was on. It can't be a playback error either. I did not recompress or edit the file. The effect is clearly visible on individual frames when paused.

This probably comes from bad compression algorithm and low bitrate for 4K.

It is sad because Phantom 3 is a fantastic platform with an awful compressor chip.

I've seen the same issue with cloud shadows. Because of it I quit flying on partly sunny days. I THINK the 1.4.010 update resolved that issue, but I can't say for sure because I have so little partly sunny footage since this:

Mine does this badly too, and l'm still at 1.1.6.

The shadows jump all over the place in back-to-back clips in this video l did early morning (shadows are long).
lf you don't want to endure the whole thing, the shadows start at 2:45.

Its a known limitation of the codec and its the same in the Inspire 1,  its due to a lack of B frames in the codec,

thanks for the info. but isnt it funny that DJI wants me to send the drone back to china to repair it?

send it in and see what happens , all i provided was info regarding common know limitations of the current system, your may not be the same

I don't trust them and somehow I tried it with the new firmware and I couldnt replicate the error.
