Frustrating Experience with DJI: A Cautionary Tale
If you enjoy navigating through mazes of incompetence and frustration, DJI's customer support is the perfect fit for you. From start to finish, dealing with DJI has been an exercise in sheer aggravation and incredible disappointment!
Firstly, attempting to speak to a human that has CORRECT knowledge of the DJI product is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, NOT ACCEPTABLE! The representatives that answer the phone system is a labyrinth of incompetence! There system seems to be designed to deter anyone seeking actual assistance. It took an incredible and unreasonable amount of time and effort just to connect with a person that I thought gave me the correct information for replacement. Filled out DJI forms to have my brand new drone, call after call to DJI, all I received is their regurgitated from scripted responses that did nothing to address my concerns, nor move in any forward direction for my new replacement! Since I had a very similar scenario back in 2016, same result, no replacement, even with their DJI express care warranty.
Email support was equally non existent. After days of calling and waiting, asking for a supervisor so I could receive a return phone call. “Wait 24 hours for a supervisor that will be going to reach out to you”, NEVER REACHED OUT! After waiting weeks, I received a generic reply that completely ignored the specifics of my issue. It was evident they hadn't even bothered to do anything to resolve my problem, let alone to provide a solution.
There customer service support is non existent — a black hole where my inquiries disappeared without a trace. Despite submitting multiple tickets over several weeks, I received no replacement, the one response was “I might receive a refurbished drone”, thats what a valued customer wants to hear! It’s almost impressive how consistently DJI fails to provide any semblance of customer support, but, they sure know how to apologize for their problems… they seem to lie from one day to another…
To add insult to injury, I had explained to DJI, that I have two options. One was to actually receive my brand new drone be replaced with a brand new drone, or return my recent purchase of DJI equipment and all of the accessories that added up to exceed $2,000.00. Almost a month after my purchase and return did I receive a sudden interest from DJI? Where was DJI’s concern at the beginning when I called and needed assistance within my return window?
In conclusion, if you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of DJI. Their products might fly high, but their customer support plunges to new depths of ineptitude. Save yourself the headache and choose a company that actually cares about its customers! Buyer Beware with DJI!
