Does anybody use the DJI M350 4g dongle on their aircraft? Can it be used in the European Union? Is there anything I should know before I order it for my aircraft?

I hope this answer will help anyone looking:
I did ended up buying it and it works in the EU. Make sure you insert a PIN (security code) free sim card and update you network provider settings in the DJI PILOT app manually (APN, user, pass). I tested it with vodafone internet and it works just great.

Which 4G Data server service did you use?
ps: not the Mobile carrier :-)

Oh, now I see. I didnt use any relay. There is no need for me to do that. I just connected the 4G dongle on the drone and connected the RC to my mobile hotspot, made the appropiate APN settings  and run like that.

Is this a positive element when you made your PDRA/SORA request, or is it better not to mention it?

Depends on the agency I guess... They do care about a backup comm link to your operation more than how the dataflow is secured.

I can't believe that this little box is both a client and a server. There must be something in between.

This is not my question. A few years ago, before the implementation of the new regulation, losing the RC link was a deal-breaker, even if a GSM link could take over.

The question is simply, were you required to describe its operation in your operating manual?

Yes. Describe it's function and design and how the operation copes with losing the RC link etc.

And when RC is lost, does it immediately take control over 4G ? Is there any latency?

There is no latency. It just continues as if nothing happened. I tested it in a simple way: in my backyard I just took of the drone and let it hover at few meters above ground and I went inside. I could send commands and had a crisp image quality with 0 RC signal.

Well its an interesting device. Even if it may have limited capabilities in poor network coverage region, like where 80% of my work take place.

Yes. I just hope that in the future versions of the M300 series DJI will include it directly into the drone/controller. Also maybe add 2 simcard slots. That will be truly awesome.
