I had to delete 4 hours of recordings due to firmware Version: 01.04.07.70. As usual, I was recording a golf review, and since the connection to MIC2 via Bluetooth is unreliable (there are frequent and significant dropouts), I use the safety track and sync the audio with the video in postproduction. I set the safety track on both transmitters, even though I only use one at a time. I configured this through the DJI mic2 receiver, but here's where the issue with DJI arises.

This is a DJI problem, not mine. Due to a software update on the Action4, the settings were reset, and the safety track is not enabled by default. As a result, I now have 4 hours of great video with poor audio.

As for the dropouts, small skips occur when I turn my back to the camera. Once I’m more than 5 meters away, there are major skips, lasting several seconds.

I hope the Action5 performs better in this regard.

Doing a sw update on a  device with rushes that are not backed up is not very clever...

the fix that DJI did for these drop outs were to make the DJI osmo Action 5 Pro, sorry but  its  where we all tested out their issues and  they release the fix  in the new camera

well sometimes I have a trouble to understand you, maybe its me because the English is not my primary language. Let me translate your message from English to English. you are saying dropouts are no longer present in 5pro? And all the complains are only 4? If yes, well, I am going to buy a 5pro then.

BTW yet another dropouts appeared today, 40min video and audio is only half. Luckily now I am more clever and now I have safety track in Mic2

To clarify, in audio terminology, a  'safety track' is a recording usually on one channel of a stereo recording at -12db below the other to prevent clipping.

I think you are actually referring the back-up recording on the TX unit? This can be in 32-bit float mode, so there is no danger of  'electronic' clipping, although you can still overload the mic capsule which will result in physical clipping.

So what happened here was you had the recording on the TX, but updated the firmware before copying and saving it. That's unfortunate. I have to say that I have not myself experienced any dropouts at all with the MIC2, when connected by BT or when into the receiver. It has been excellent. I am not usually working at long range, or out-of-line-of-sight, however. That's a common issue with all 2.4G wireless systems. The 'Old' UHF is much better in those cases.
