I was recently surprised, while flying with a friend, that his Phantom 1 decended so much faster than my Phantom 2 v2. I figured they should be about the same. After researching it I found that DJI has been careful to limit the decent speed so people wouldn't experience a loss of control by desending too fast. This makes total sense and I see why it was done but can you please at least change the rate while in Atti mode? There are times when we need to decend quickly.

Does anyone else agree?

DJI has calculated the most efficient speed to decent to help prevent VRS prop wash. It would be nice as you say but don't think it's gonna happen.

Could always switch to manual mode.

Or desend it yourself..

I've seen some nasty results from people switching to manual. One of these days I'll get up the guts to try it. Have you tried this before? I'm worried that it would come down so fast that by the time I get a visual of the descent rate it would be too late to increase throttle to catch it.
