Lovely shot showing all the traditional Fall colors.    Great that you captured them before the leaves all start to fall off.

The foliage is a littler dryer than usual. We havent had rain in more than three weeks. I am thankful for that.

Since Hurricane Helene passed through here we have been relatively rainless also.

I woke up this morning to gusting winds so I guess I'm stuck with them for at least one more day.  Oh well, I've got plenty of things to get done and keep me busy indoors.

Enjoy the Day. I have FAA Approval to fly in CT so I have to go. The Mavic 3 E holds the wind well.

Thanks, A little blustery but we got it done. I was stopped by Homeland Security for flying in zero class airspace. I had an authorization and my license and they were very nice. Apparently they have a drone detection system at the airport and because I was flying for 3 hours they had time to come by ad check me.

That's a great vista.

It is interesting that they physically came out to check on you.  No doubt they have some type of sophisticated drone detection system and probably even a system to take out drones if necessary.  I know several companies are working on systems to detect and take out entire drone swarms.  

Good thing you had all your authorizations and paperwork in order to show HS.

Yes, He made a point of telling me they picked me up on their new drone detection system, and that I was flying on a zero grid. He was actually happy that I was flying legally. He said that no one does.

Sounds like you made a really good impression on him.   At least he found one person in full compliance.

It seemed to have gone well. They told me I am on the whitelist in CT. If they see me flying they'll know it's me now and I am compliant so they won't bother me. Now I only need it it 49 more states.

They came back to me yesterday afternoon with a comment that I had taken the part 68 text instead of the 107 for recertifcation. I had to retake the test last night which was exactly the same as the one I took 3 months ago for the new recertification card.  I did it but the requirements they have are weird.

The funny thing was it was the same exact test. One for real pilots which I took and one for UAS pilots for a different card. I wouldn't have known I wasn't legally current if they didn't catch it.

Unfortunately, they are protected and can only be shot if your life is in peril.  He definitely stared me down though.  Those black bears have sharp teeth and claws and can be very aggressive so I try to avoid them where possible.  Abouit 2 weeks back I though I saw some bear tracks around my deer feeder but wasn't sure.  Now, I'm thinking those were bear prints and probably why the deer have been a bit skittish lately.
