Hello DJI Community,

The camera on my Mini 4 Pro has developed a problem where it tilts up and down on its own, without any input from me. This erratic movement occurs intermittently, and while I can use the tilt wheel to control the camera movement for some time, once I let go, the camera moves up and down involuntarily.

This issue has made it challenging to capture stable footage, and I'm concerned about potential damage to the gimbal or camera.

Context:

  • Purchase Location: Thailand
  • Current Location: India
  • Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
    • Restarting the drone
    • RC Calibration
    • Checking for firmware updates
    • Inspecting the gimbal for any visible obstructions

Unfortunately, there are no authorized DJI service centers in my area, and I'm unsure how to proceed with getting this issue resolved.

To help illustrate the problem, I am attaching two videos that demonstrate the camera's erratic movement.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Any advice on troubleshooting or options for repair would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi there,
thank you for reaching out.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please carry out the troubleshooting steps below and provide your feedback.

a. First check the wind velocity in the flight environment: The stabilization effect will be affected by strong wind. We recommend changing to another environment or waiting for some time before taking off again.
b. Please check with the control sticks: If the control stick is pushed with too much force, the aircraft speed will be high, which reduces the stabilization effect. It is recommended to push the control stick gently.
c. Please check whether the propellers are damaged or deformed. If there is any damage and deformation, it is recommended to replace the propellers. Verify that the two propellers on the same motor have the same batch number. Please use two propellers with the same batch number.
d. Ensure that the aircraft is not in S mode when flying.
e. Remove the microSD card from the aircraft. Place the aircraft in a stable status and restart it.
f.  Connect the DJI Assistant 2 software for firmware updating (if the firmware is not the latest version) or refresh the firmware (if the firmware is the latest version).

Additionally, please try with gimbal calibration, resetting gimbal parameters, and IMU calibration. Keep us posted on the progress.
