So DJI how can we solve this without me using my care refresh to get a replacement door for my OA5 that is not waterproof?

Tried your homepage but it is just a loop trying to get with an agent.

Here is video proof:

I'm wondering how common this issue is. Does anyone have a new camera with a USB door that doesn't do this?

Waiting for Amazon to send me a replacement camera (because DJI refused to help me) and I'm hoping the new one won't have the same problem.

My USB door has exactly the same problem as shown here.

I have absolutely now waterproof issues on my OA5 and i have now made several dives with it down to a depth of around 30 metres. Without a housing.

Makes it likely that it affects all of them then. A big flaw for something that’s meant to be a waterproof action camera.
Would explain the response I received from customer service. The indication I got was that they would/could not help me in any way at all unless I sent the camera in, even though the person I spoke to would have liked to help me.
Guessing they’re hoping that they can just fix this in the next batch and that the people that notice they have a faulty camera will just get them replaced by the retailer so they won’t have to pay for a full recall.
I can understand that stance given the situation they find themselves in, but they really should have found this during testing. It doesn’t reflect well on their processes or commitment to their customers.

That’s good to know, gives me hope for my replacement. Does your USB door move and open without pressing the small locking button as shown in the video?

Move yes, but only if push it really hard. But it is still not possible to open.
100% the same behaviour as on OA4.

Then you are lucky. I have the same problem as you could see, as Fish have reported in this thread here.

Thank you johansenfoto for your video. I understand now what the complaint is much more clearly. After seeing this, I tried mine and it’s exactly the same as yours. Strange that the 4 door fits but they have made the 5 door slightly differently.

I find it very strange that the usb-c cover on the OA5 has become so bad as this. It has always been good on both OA3 and OA4. When I first saw this problem at Fish, I didn't think much of it until I randomly tried mine to see if it was loose or not. Because this is something you don't notice until you try. And if someone is unfortunate enough to get it full of water, then it becomes a big problem and expensive as well.

I cannot open mine as easy as you can from the back but I can slide it down slightly, so having slid it down and plunged it into water not a single drop got into the USBC chamber so sliding it down slightly the seal still functions and the chamber is fully sealed.

The USB compartment closes perfectly even though the door moves 1mm. Just remove the door and understand how the closing mechanism works. I don't see a problem

I have absolutely now waterproof issues on my OA5 and i have now made several dives with it down to a depth of around 30 metres. Without a housing.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is designed to be waterproof up to 20 meters without the need for a Waterproof Case and can withstand depths of up to 60 meters when used with the Waterproof Case.

Water damage can seriously affect the performance of the product, the best course of action would be to submit an online repair request through the link here: https://www.dji.com/us/support/repair. This will allow our certified technicians to fully inspect the device. Please rest assured that this will be taken care of and handled accordingly.

If I submit a request there it want to use my care refresh and that I won't do since it will cost me even more + I don't want to send away my camera.
Need a better solution for this, DJI Natalia.

Hi johansenfoto, we truly understand your concern however the only solution is to submit a repair request and send your product for a damage assesment and we will surely provide you with an accurate resolution after we review the details.

We do apologize for the trouble caused and thank you for your understanding.

I have now the second OA5 because the first one had a problem with the sensor. I hadn't noticed this with the door on the first one either.

Too bad it doesn't fit so well for you. :-(

Didn't you watch the video I posted? What did I do wrong in that that make you want the whole camera to be sent in?

It clearly shows that it is the door that need to be replaced and not the camera itself.

Edit: 2 hours after and I get a DHL package pickup, well I won't send in my camera and not even the usb-cover. Is this that hard to understand?

Find a better solution like just send me a new usb-cover!

Good news. I just received my second camera from Amazon and on this one, the USB door locks properly and has very little movement - just like the battery door.
Looks like this does not affect all cameras.

I feel much more confident submerging this camera because there's no way this door is going to open accidentally, unlike the first.
Comparing the two, it's clear that the problem is with the mechanism inside the door on my original camera.
Now I just need to return my original camera to Amazon and get a refund for it.

I'd suggest that anyone with this fault returns it to their retailer rather than trying to get DJI support to help given my experience.

You cannot return it to a retailer if you purchased off dji .

IMO I bought off Amazon and went directly to the Official site without issues so Yeah we can go to a retailer if bought and they will send to the Official site  and go from there

Mine works more or less like the Action 4. I need to push strongly to make the door move half a millimeter without pressing the button.
I understand that being able to open the door without applying pressure to the button is dangerous, but the water proofness should be there until you completely slide the door because the sealing is keeping it's position until you open the door completely. Anyway, it's annoying.

Door on mine OA5 is moving slightly, about half of mm, when I press moderate. I don't know would it affect on waterproofness..
I have GoPro hero 11, which is tested for two years in the water, so maybe I will continue to using it for underwater.
