I know all about the previous ability to de-register Mini 4 pro drones before 31/12/2023.
But if you buy a Mini 4 Pro drone now, well into 2024 in the UK .. Whilst the CAA clearly ALLOWS a drone to fly up to 400ft above the surface as it undulates...  What IS the current status / ability in the UK where, for example, you want to launch at the bottom of a valley and fly up the slope, but whilst the drone may always be less than 400 feet above the surface as it climbs,  you need it to go over 400ft above the launch point..  Which it USED to be able to do..     Now we're almost at the end of 2024, Have DJI given UK users the ability to still do this, or have they screwed ALL users, irrespective of being in the UK & imposed EU restrictions on UK flyers?   OR can you still over-ride and request or unlock the full 500m, as before, because the Contoller software KNOWS you're in the UK, thus allows it?    Which is it please...

I bought my M4P back in April. Have only updated the software and firmware as necessary. Didn't even know about 'de-registering' it, which from your comments I assume this to be because of Brexit.

Either way, the last time I had mine out a week ago, after doing an update, I had a quick scan through the menus and I could change my altitude to 500m, but put it back to 120m. As to whether the controller knows you're in the UK, it must be good, because I'm in Northern Ireland, about five miles from the Irish border.

As an aside, despite NI being part of the UK, and the UK finally being out of the EU following Brexit, NI is still treated as being part of the EU. Following Brexit, I noticed on eBay about a 40% drop in sellers who would post to NI, mainly because they don't know that NI is part of the UK, and some were sending out customs declarations if they did post to here. As of 13th December this year, eBay are implementing full GPSR regulations. The end result of this is that almost 100% of sellers will 'turn off' NI as a destination, because of the increased workload in providing additional paperwork to eBay. If that isn't bad enough, there is a seller here in NI who has about 13,000 products, and come the 13th December, he will be able to sell these to England, Scotland and Wales, but NOT Northern Ireland! No doubt other retailers will follow suit.
