Auto for the color test, pro for the intensity and cinematic tests.

Really it is not helpful at all.  A given shutter speed can be selected in video no matter which ND is used.

Quite useless for drones TBH (or at least very much overrated).
You'll never have the right one on the lens for the whole shoot.
And you don't want them on for stills, so.....
Only if I really really have to, otherwise I prefer without.
