Yes. I go skiing twice a year in the French Alps and always take my Mini drones (currently using M4P). You cannot fly in built up areas anywhere in France between sunset & sunrise. Some ski resorts won’t let you fly your drone at all, but fortunately my ski resort allows drones (provided nowhere near the village/town). I seem to recall something in the DJI user manual about being careful flying over snow. Personally I’ve never had an issue flying my drone over snow and it has worked at temperatures down to -10°C. That said, tracking yourself skiing downhill with M4P doesn’t really work even on a gentle slope despite the fact that both the horizontal speed and vertical descent speed means that the drone should be able to keep up. I recently bought the Air 3S which should keep up with a skier. Problem is that you are not allowed to fly this drone over uninvolved people - so realistically it cannot be used for skiing. Finally, don’t forget that you need to pass the EASA exam |
