First crash - gimbal broke

Hi,

Last week I had my first real crash with the DJI Mavic Air. There was lots of wind and it had wind in the back. Therfore I was not able to stop in time and hit the roof of the house. Allthough it was a very slight hit it came down and lucky enough I was able to catch it.
Unfortunatly the gimbal did not survive.

I created a ticket with DJI and have send it in for repair. Hope the cost will not be that high.

That’s tough, Do you have refresh ? Usually the price is reasonable.

I wonder about the never ending speed! Why do you fly that fast even as you were that near, that is not the wind?
As you are came from the distance i thought by my self, ui, he is much to fast, even in the far position.

Are you a newbie, or do you flown in sportsmode without safesystem?

I wish it was true that I was in sports mode, but I was just in normal mode.
It started to rain so I wanted to get home quickly. But the speed was much higher than it normally is/was. It was stormy that day. So I guess it was the wind (it sure was in the back)….

Never had it before. And no I’m not a newbie… I fly drones for 10 years now, this is my first real crash.

Well, it could have been worse. Hopefully you have care refresh as the camera might be costly.

I already did send it in for repair. Should arrive at the service center today.

No care refresh unfortunately. I fly drones for 10 years now and this is the first crash where I really have damage.

Wow! I realy need to thank DJI for this christmas gift. I got the repair bill for the drone and got a 50% discount! Total costs for repair and transport: 50 euro (about 55 US dollar)!
Thank you all and I will enjoy my flights even more (and will be more careful next time )

I got it back....DJI did (again) do a realy good job.... Repair costs where 100 euro, got 50 euro discount...
They have send me a complete new drone without care refresh....
Really love DJI !

Hi,
I am restricted from starting a new thread so commenting here instead and hoping someone can help.

I was very excited to receive a Mini 4K, my first drone, for Christmas and proceeded to fly it into a tree on its maiden voyage. It was not a big crash but as you can see from the photos below, it led to the displacement of the gimbal, which now sits right of centre. Is there an easy fix for this or do I need to send it back?
