I generall buy most DJI Products. But as I have the Neo (3 of them) The Air 3S, The Mini 4 Pro and the Avata 2 and more besides I cant see where the Flip fits in my lineup. Initially it is not FPV enabled it seems and I dont think it is robust enough that. I will wait for hopefully somthing between the Neo and the Avata 2. Not excited any more

It's a strange one. I don't doubt that DJI knows their market, but I can't see where this fits in, not as flexible as the budget friendly Neo and not as robust as the mini line up.

For the price it's a great entry level drone with the added feel of protection from those prop covers.   It should sell well. but if you have other models going to the entry level budget drone is not exciting.  

I couldn't agree more with you,  it's everything I feared it would be from the leaks.     Mini 5 Pro hopefully comes soon with some good improvements.  

I think that this is just not for those of us who already has the better stuff. When do you recon the Avata 3 would be due

That is exactly how I feel. Had my Cash at the Ready also. Have to find something else to spend it on now

Pulled the trigger on a Fly More Combo. I see it has an upgraded Neo.

Generally I think its priced to expensive for what it is.

It shows how DJI can develop a new style of foldable drone, my Neo is so robust, my Mini 4 pro is a great drone, the flip will have its customer base, no doubt, but not for me. Patience waiting for a Neo 2 or Mini5pro then might spend some money.

I said better functionality, not spec.

I was dead against this up to today.

Then I watched a few of the videos around and am actually quite impressed.

That's a good sensor on there, and it IS a 3-axis gimbal after all.

Flight time is good, and I like the idea of built in prop guards.

BUT, it's not 360 OA as no rear sensors - that means no automatic routing around obatacles.

And as I suspected it has no nav lights at all. But with a 1/1.3" sensor it's supposed to be pretty good at night (like the Mini4Pro) but without lights you ain't gonna be able to see it.

So, I'm more impressed than I expected to be, but still not convinced.

What it HAS left me wondering is, where the hell is the Mini5Pro going to be positioned now?

The camera spec on this levels up with the Mini4Pro. So the 5 Pro will surely need a sensor upgrade but will still need to come in cheaper than the Air3S - that gap is getting very tight!

Needs to have remote ID enabled to be a Cat 1 Operations Over People drone for FAA Part 107 flights.

I have 3 neos and an Avata 2 with goggles 3 and N3 also I just felt this should be as versitile as the Neo and it isn’t. When folded it is actually still very big also.

With this Flip, DJI is showing that it is running out of ideas under 250 grams.
Mixes and mixes and mixes of things that other drones have, but DJI is not going to integrate all of them in just a single product. Why sell you only one product when I can offer you 5?

In my opinion, it seems unlikely that the DJI Flip will ever receive a firmware update to enable FPV functionality for the goggles. The folding propellers present a significant vulnerability, as they could fold during sharp or aggressive maneuvers. This would not only compromise stability but also put the 3-axis gimbal at risk of damage, especially during high-speed or sharp turns. It feels like a design limitation that makes FPV support impractical for this model.

Yes, only these drones have a full-fledged system that works even with tree branches. And this Flip has a completely useless system only in the front.

For people wondering who this drone is for, I guess its for people exactly like me.

I have no interest in social media or taking exquisite cinematic video. I wanted a drone purely to take great pics of family holidays and other similar events. I have a selfie stick / tripod but this never takes great pics and you're limited in placement. A drone can hover anywhere and take great pics when you're halfway up a mountain or a nice boat trip in greece for example.

A mini pro 4 is overkill and don't like the idea of open propeller due to kids in family so I got the neo but pic quality was terrible so returned it straight away. I randomly saw the flip and it was exactly what I needed, great camera at a reasonable price.

I have no doubt the mini 4 pro is better but for people like me that just want a drone to take some pics, the flip is perfect.
