It was -2ºC (water was freezing as the lake was iced over) at Lee Valley last Saturday but I couldn't resist going down as it was the 1st day open after the Christmas break
I have a new boat (Pyrahna ReactR) too, Santa got me it, yeah ok, I lied, I got it for myself :p but boy does it make it paddling a lot easier than the old boat from 2010.

Absolutely mad,  OK. Not as made as the loons that were out sea swimming in it.

The water on top of the boat was starting to freeze at times. Those that open water swim in the winter are deffo cuckoo to some degree

To be honest, it was too cold for me,i was hoping it would at least get above freezing but it didn't, and to top it off, the darn conveyor to take us to the top didn't work from the get go, I think it froze and kept tripping out, so that ruined the session somewhat so I didn't stay for the full 90 mins, I left at 60, I don't do walking lol.

As for the boat, it was an impulse purchase, they are normally just a bit under £1500, noticed it just before xmas at £1130, I couldn't ignore that. It may have even been a typo cause about an hour later it was back up to the normal price, I was lucky

Great buy on the boat then.  With the conveyor broke and the cold temps I think I'd have thrown in the towel also.
