Is there any plans for the Osmo to have digital zoom facility. That would be fantastic.

Not at this time.  

I'd be willing to bet that you could do some nice zooms in post if you shoot in 4K. Gives you a lot of extra res to work with for the stabilization and zoom effects if you wanted. Not the same but may fit some needs.

This will work very well. I've shot material in 4K and put it on a 1080 timeline in Sony Vegas Pro, then cropped the image to what I needed. After rendering out in 1080, you'd be hard-pressed to see any loss of detail.

I think that the digital zoom will save us a lot of time of post-processing, battery life and memory space. It's easier to just drag your fingers when shooting in 1080 than changing the video recording settings in the menu every time you need some zoom. I thought that the Osmo Pro will have this feature since I've tried the Osmo+ and I see no reason to forget this on a thing that shoots 4K (and costs 2K€) and this is simply a sensor crop recording.
