I'm testing the new Pix4D capture app and want to see how the Inspire responds while not being outside.

Is it bad for the motors to run the props at full speed and simulate a takeoff without any props?  I wouldn't run in for more than 20-30 sec at full speed.

I did a search and couldn't find an answer.  Thanks.

I have been told by a reliable source at a major local hobby store that running brushless motors without a load is bad for them. As to the physical reasons, I cannot comment.

Thanks for the replies.  Looks like lots of differing opinions on the subject.  I ended up testing in the field and things went well.  It's crazy to watch the Inspire take off, fly a mission, then land all on it's own...

Where did you get the new pix4d capture app? Is it for iOS or only android?
