I have O4 Air Unit(lite), Remote 3 and Goggles 3 connected together. It works fine and displays the video feed including OSD overlay from betaflight. Signal strength for video and RC is max. All good but… SBUS signal (yellow wire) from the Air Unit is not working and Betaflight Configurator shows no movement on the receiver tab when I move the sticks. I even tried measuring on the SBUS signal with an oscilloscope and it goes high after power up and stays high for 3.5 sec, and then stays low afterwards. So no SBUS communication.

I even bought a second 04 Air unit to test if I had a problem with the first, but the second acts the same.

Note. All firmware is updated to latest. On Googles 3 under Settings->Control I tried both Normal and SBUS baud fast

Any help would be highly appreciated. I have been strugling for a week now.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Kindly check if the definition of the three-in-one cable interface for video transmission and flight control connections is consistent, and if there are any incorrect connections.
Also, check the BF software if the remote control port is open and if the remote control port is set to SBUS protocol. If there are no issues with the above, check if recording can be started on the sky end. If recording is possible but the flight controller still cannot be controlled, then contact the third-party manufacturer to check the flight control.

Thank you for your understanding.

I have performed the test on two different flight controllers, each with its own cable soldered. I feel pretty confident I got the connection right, since they power up and show video with OSD overlay.
I have made sure to download Betaflight 4.5.1 with SBUS protocol and digital OSD enabled.

When I measured on the SBUS signal it was constantly low after connection is established, but you are supposed to see data like seen here:

No luck so far.
I have not even come to setup arm’ing, since I’m stuck at a point where my RC inputs (e.g. stick movement) does not show up in Betaflight Receiver tap.

I have the same issue. I’m trying to have the O4 lite working with goggles 3 and RC3 on a crazyf405hd. Without success!I have the video in the goggles 3, but nothing is moving in the radio section of betaflight.
Before, it was working perfectly with goggles 2 and RC2.
I have an Avata 2, well paired with the RC3 and goggles 3,
Of course, I selected the O4 Air Unit in the goggles, I also checked that the SBUS setting in the goggles (fast/normal) matches the SBUS setting in betaflight CLI "set sbus_baud_fast = ON"or OFF...I'm on the correct UART (6) for the serial RX and I have selected serial receiver and SBus for Rx parameters.
Nothing works in the radio section.... so, I'm stuck.
If some one has some idea, thanks in advance

This precisely describes what I have been through, but I went a step further and measured directly on the wire.
I have talked to a guy who has a similar setup working, but that is with a O4 Air Unit Pro (not the lite like in my setup). So I am starting to believe that the functionality is not implemented in the O4 lite yet.

I also spoke to tech support at the store where I bought my O4 lite, and that's exactly what they told me. No problem reported with the O4 pro, but he has received many calls from people with the same problem as us with the lite. He promised to perform some advanced tests with several FCs and several O4s. In parallel, I opened a ticket at DJI. If this problem is confirmed, I hope they will find a solution quickly and propose a fix. I sold all my o3 / g2 and rc2 and the O4 lite is really what I expect for my custom Modular 8. And I also sold my Taranis RC. A keep you tuned

Just got both the Meteor 65 and 75 pro O4 and I'm unable to connect my DJI controller 3 to them. I Followed the FC's UART chart (serial Rx in UART1). I have OSD. I have set receiver Mode to: Serial (via UART) and the Serial receiver provider to: Sbus. I have set my goggles' protocol to: Sbus Baud fast. But when i go to the receiver tab i get no movement from the color bars despite moving my sticks. Please Help!

Thank you for taking the time to answer.
I was aware of the video and the was unfortunately not the problem.
The problem is solely related to the O4 unit not outputting the SBUS signal. There is no communication on the line.

Because I have exactly the same prob as described in this post with my O4 air.

Hi, I have the same issue but with the Pro version. I don't get the activation Message for the Remote Controller 3 when plugging in to DJI Assistant 2. I think I already activated it back when I started using it with the Avata2, but there seems to be no Option to check this?! How should I proceed now?

Also having the same issues. Is there a way to force activation? When I plug my controller in it does not ask for activation. Not sure how to proceed.

Ok. I finally made some headway. I changed the sbus fast to off in the cli and it started to work. I believe the goggles are on fast so I’m not sure how that is working but it is but I’m flying!  Any clarity on how that fixed it or why or what we should do differently is welcome.

Are you working with a win box or a Mac. If it is a Mac you need a data cable or one that goes to usb and then a converter to usb-c. Some work and some don’t. When you install the dji application you also have to approve an install in terminal, if I recall.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out and we do apologize for the trouble caused. May I confirm the exact remote controller model you're using? Also, kindly share us a screenshot of DJI Assistant 2 interface/the error for us to check further and advise accordingly.

Keep us posted. Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. May I confirm if you're referring to DJI FPV Remote Controller 3? Also, it would greatly help if you can share us a screenshot of the error message you receive when activating the device for us to check further and provide with an accurate solution.

Keep us posted. Thank you!

This drove me mad too, this is how I did it for the Meteor 65/75 Pro 04: Fire up betaflight configurator, backup current config just in case, connect the drone to it via the betafpv dongle, and use a fan to cool down the o4 air unit when connecting the drone to the PC.

In the Ports tab, first disable the switch under UART3 and instead enable it on UART1
In the Receiver tab: choose SBUS instead of CRSF.
Go to the CLI tab and type set sbus_baud_fast = ON and then type save to save the info.

And in the Goggles make sure its also set to SBUS FAST and not standard (And obviously the firmware is up to date so the 04 air unit can be selected)

Then finally go into the modes tab to configure the buttons. I've not really had chance to fly mine as I've been ill, indoors I noticed the rates were too fast so they will need adjusting for the RC3.

I am facing the same problems, O4 pro is powered on and the video and OSD are well shown on G3, but the SBUS is not working. I have tred both normal mode and fast mode. I tested the SBUS pin with a oscilloscope, it appears no signal wave, but a stable voltage level. I will try to update all the firmwares of all dji devices and try again.
