Hi,I just picked up the dom v3's and since the p3a doesn't have a hdmi port I was wondering instead of buying the hdmi module can I just get a mirco usb to hdmi adapter? Will this work or do I have buy the dji module?

uhhhhh... no.  Those USB ports doesn't provide an HDMI output.

No m8 you need the hdmi module.

okay well I went and ordered the usb mini to hdmi port anyway and if not will get the module.

What you ordered is an MHLI adapter, it only works on Android/iPhones with MHLI capabilities...but since you already ordered it, you will find that out for yourself.  When it doesn't work (and it won't), you can keep it to send stuff from your phone screen to your HDTV...as long as your phone supports it...ha ha ha

You need the HDMI board.  It's that simple. I have both the Dom v3 and Headplay,
