If someone has time would you please describe the settings on the camera for me?. For instance D-log, the best setting for videos. I don't use the still camera much, I just need a better understanding of how to best set up the video side. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some settings I have used.

Log profile, Sharpening @ -1, Contrast @ -1, Saturation @ -1. Contrast and (quite a bit of) Saturation added back in via your editing software but no sharpening in post.

The point of using  "log" mode would be to try to capture more dynamic range for eventual grading, eeking out maybe another stop of DR.  Also for manipulating the sharpening, contrast and saturation in post.
If you are not really good at editing in post then I would advise to not use D-log mode.
