Hey guys
Just wondering because we have loaded latest Firmware 3.06
With new features
Do I still need to turn P2 clockwise and up and down for GPS fix ???
Or does the new firmware read your GPS device phone and lock onto that ???
Just checking before the first flight with new Firmware
Appreciate your advice
Cheers Steve

Regardless of any update, pre flight checks and gps home lock settings  are mandatory. You will lose your bird immediately if you don't. The answer is yes.....  every time you fly..... I see so many people not setting GPS home(compass calibration it's called), and losing your bird, please never forget. Cos newbies are relying too heavily on the gps return to home function, which only works if you set home point every time you fly. Thankfully I saved yours, too late for some, I am sad to say.

When you turn your Phantom like that at your takeoff point, you are setting your compass to that location.  It is a must for any place, otherwise, your Phantom might fly erratically or just fly away.
