You have provided another welcome camera option to the Inspire platform the new Zenmuse XT with a Flir Camera.

So whats the price tag going to be and what will the release date be.

Price is going to be outrageous and shipping date is going to be 6 months after payment is confirmed.

Yeah, if its a relationship with Flir it will not be cheap.

It looks like its the Flir Vue Pro with a DJI Gimbal

So then add on the price of the DJI Gimbal and you will soon be well over $2,000 for the cheaper versions.

Back for weekend, tried 4 hours last night to update the bird and fails every time.  So hacked off at minute was hoping to get out this weekend.


The other thing with this thermal camera is it will no doubt be overpriced by the time you add on the cost of the DJI gimbal

Let us not forget that this latest thermal offering is going to be controlled by the good old DJI Go app.

This means we can all look forward to some Facespace and PooTube bloatware and the inevitable 'Thermal Selfies.

Oh, and with the I'm sure soon to be introduced 'Thermal Friend' button, all your infra red buddies will just be a click away !

Look at the Flir website.

They are using the flir cameras for the UAVs on their website

Need to look at the product DJI actually ship and see its capabilities. Remember that DJI are the vendor here, not FLIR. They are just the OEM for the sensor. Plenty of scope for either enhancement or screw up by the time it ships to punters.

Yes agree there.  

Will have to wait and see what the final DJI specs are and of course the obligatory DJI promotional videos and shoots in LA

They will sell quite a few to the rabid fanboys who will rush to buy anything with the DJI logo on it this despite the vast majority not having the first clue about thermal imaging and its application to industry.  But since DJIs marketing machine will say it's a game changer will be enough to separate them from their cash.

   As Thermal Imagery has many settings, is the "Emissivity" one of them (This is very critical)? I'm a level III certified thermographer, and hope that this system will have all the settings required for proper imagery processing available. i.e. emissivity, background temperature, etc...

It looks pretty well set up though. Looking at this video the app seems to make things really easy. I'm by no means an expert on thermals but maybe this could be a great way to get started?
