I just got my new phantom 2 vision and was hopeing someone can tell me what I need to do to update  the firmware.  Do I need to do anything to the transmitter? I have read the manual but I just thought I would ask people who have done this before. I have seen some people on this forum who said that after updating firmware they had problems with their motors and camera. I would like to avoid those problems. Thanks.

Yes thats it.

You will need to download these and install on your computer

First, charge all the batteries, charge the range extender.  Do you have the Phantom 2 version 3 with the small wheel at the left corner?
The remote control plugs into the computer with the usb cord and you will open the RC system 1.2 and do your stick calibrations.  Then with the system all on, connect the phantom to the computer and open the pt2 program and do the calibrations there also.  Make sure your props are not mounted to the motors while in the house.  You should also download the manual from the same page and save to your desktop for reference.

No I don't have that controller from what I read on the dji Web site  that controller is only for the vision plus.

Just do any upgrades it might require then the calibrations.

DONT DO THE UPGRADE FOR CONTROLLER AS IT SAYS, WHEN YOU CONNECT TO PC, there are no updates for vision RC !!!!
And dont upgrade batterysoftware unless you are 100% sure what you do, (loaderversion in battery)

Are you saying that there are no updates for the rc or will it mess the rc up?

There is no updates for RC, unless you have the new controller with gimball wheel in upper left corner.

I have the same unit---Phantom 2 Vision (round camera).  I was unable to install Phantom upgrades or switch controller mode to NAZA until I connected my remote to PC.  It demanded I do it as the first step. I needed to download this, I think, to complete the first step:
DJI WIN Driver Installer.  I think that was it.  All I remember for sure is, I ended-up having to connect my RC directly to computer for some reason or other before it would let me proceed to next step---upgrading firmware of Phantom.

Hi. Delighted to have received an FC40 for Christmas. What a tool!! I don't have a PC, only a Mac and an iPad Air. Is there software due out soon as I keep reading about carrying out a firmware upgrade and accessing extra features using the DJI software? Help please.....
