I have been using my iPhone 6 to fly my P3P and I have had no problems. But I also have a regular iPad  4th generation ( not a iPad Air or mini ). I see that they sell a extender so it will fit on the controller of the P3P. I have downloaded the dji go app on it and everything seems to be fine. Is there any reason I should not use it.  It is not on the list of tablets that dji recommends but is that just because it is an older model?

The processor is too slow, so you're going to see poor performance in the DJI GO app if you do managed to get it installed. You can find a list of devices that work well here.

The iPad 4 is not compatible with the DJI Go App . The iPad 4 works slowly and may be hard to support such a heavy task .
