Hi - a simple question about the Phantom 3.  Mine has a white foam L-shaped block between the rotating part of the gimbal and gimbal mounting plate attached to the aircraft.  I can't tell if this is a shock absorber or something that should be removed before flight.  I don't see any mention of it in the documentation.  (See attached photo).

Also, make sure to study the manual before your first flight, make sure to do a IMU, gimbal, compass calibration.
If you follow the online manual, watch the tutorials in the Academy page of the app, you'll have a much better flying experience.

Thats normal 4 rubbers to 2 anti drop pins as fitted by DJI

my P3P had a small red sticker on that foam piece instructing to remove before flight.  i didn't even see the piece until after my 3rd flight

i had no issues with it there but i have removed it (and threw it out).  no need to keep it as far as i can tell.  i DO replace the camera/gimbal lock for transport.

MIne arrived with 4 rubbers and 2 of the pins installed.   
Should I be installing the extra supplied pins before flying?

"normal" is only 2 plastic pins installed in the craft.  the unit ships with two spare pins.

it even says on it in red to remove before flight...

I've never even seen the foam thing for mine.  Dealer removed it before I picked it up.
