Today I finally opened up my DJI Phantom 3 professional and did the necessary charging of batteries , then I updated the firmware to P3X_FW_V01.06.0040 that was successful according to text file, I then restarted the controller and pp3 back up with the DJIGO app and it had me do more updates and said everything was successfull so I restarted everything back up and now I get no signal. Not sure where I went wrong in the process. The LED colors on my RC status is cyan (light blue) and there is no sound when it starts back up . Any help is appreciated. Thank you for reading. Jack

Same for me ;( No signal error and drone showing as "Professional" when actually " advanced???
I have a advanced Phantom purchased from DJI website on the 18 December 2015. I have logged approx 5 flights and I recently tried to fly my drone but unfortunately it has “Signal Error”.

I have updated to the latest firmware for both Drone and RC before any flights. I am unsure what the issue is and obviously cannot take any pictures or video. I have searched the forums and attempted a number of resets, firmware downgrades and cables (including other devices – moved from iPad mini to iPhone to check).

* I have tried reinstalling DJI iOS App (even used android and different iOS device)
* Linked RC again
* Calibrated Gimbal and IMU
* Different reformatted SD Card
* New iPad cable to RC
* Firmware update to latest (confirmed for advanced version - not professional)
* Checked physical wiring from outside
*reseated cables from drone to gimbal (as per DJI support request)

Something very different from my first flight is that I noticed my go app registers the drone as a "Professional" and not "advanced" (it used to show as advanced phantom)??

I also have the same issue some people report re the gimbal going limp about 10 seconds after boot up. I can control it during this boot up phase. In addition to this, if I put in SD card (formatted on so many different machines at least one should have worked if this was it) it seems to reset (plugged drone into PC via micro-usb to check) every few seconds. This seems to demonstrate that some issue with camera / gimbal?

Please also note I can fly the drone no problem, but I have "no signal" and no therefore no video feed.

I unfortunately don't have the text file output, I accidentally deleted it when reformatting the SD card after firmware update to make sure it was clean before I flew again. Now I can't get the SD card to downgrade or upgrade firmware as its not registering correctly (the SD card that is). I can try multiple types of SD with same outcome. I also tried to force reinstall by holding in drone RC link at boot (read somewhere this will force firmware update).

I reckon I have burned about 2 solid days diagnosing this awesome (but totally crap) device.

Getting desperate now, any help appreciated!

At least you got some test flights in. Hopefully we can have this problem solved soon.  I haven't really seen much info on new right out of the box problems with firmware and updating quad or remote controller. Linking RC to Quad didn't work either.

Support told me to reset  RC by pushing down C1 and C2 along with video record button and camera wheel on right side, then turning it back on while holding all 4 at same time. Did it . Still getting the  no signal , no sounds when RC starts after letting go of buttons.

After Phantom 3 Advanced firmware update (1.6.0040) I have same problem.

If you have upgraded and no longer have video signal, upgrade and downgrade several times to see if it fixes it. If not, then look at your hidden TXT file, if you see two places where it says device Not Detected, then you have a bad video transmission module and you will have to send it in for warranty repair.
Here are instructions for viewing the hidden files on PC or Mac.

Where would this text be located in computer at. I have files showing but not sure where to find the text at? I tried using a usb stick to downgrade but had no luck with controller. It acts like nothing is connecting. Only thing I see on phone is no signal from transmission of controller.

If you are trying to perform the upgrade/downgrade on the aircraft, you cannot use a USB stick, you must place the BIN files into the root directory of the SD card, plug it into the aircraft, then switch the aircraft on.

Ok, So do I just put firmware 1.4 on Sd Card and stick back in copter and restart? Because I did try that and it didn't do nothing. This is the text on micro card

You are on 16 already, you can only downgrade to 1.5. You are trying 1.4And thos are just the TXT logs and not the hidden TXT logs.

Good, let it beep until you hear the 4 beeps (could take 25 minutes) Then reformat the SD card on the computer and install the BIN 1.6 onto the SD card and try it again.

If you cannot get video after trying 1.6 then view the hidden file and see if module 8 or 15 say Device Not Detected. If they do, then you need to send it in for warranty repair.

Thank you , it's now beeping and doing the downgrade. After it downgrades, will I need to put 1.6  ...

Don't do anything to the controller, after you install 1.5, power up everything and go to the about page and the controller should say 1.5. And if you are able to update to 1.6, the controller will still say 1.5

Cool, I did find that hidden log on the micro stick but last night i reformatted  the original ins ...

Ok, you are good, at least you don't have to send it in. Let's try to get it updated.

Try to relink the controller (page 28 on the manual.Also check your camera settings to make you you dont have the exposure setting way off or anything like that,

Well Ken, I've tried this now with firmware 1.5 and  1.6 again and didn't get no signal with either , same thing when starting remote no sound, cyan color for status which I show above in picture,  no green or red also return home button stays on which I'm not sure if that's normal. When trying to bind, I get the same thing I did with picture above linking remote controllers , confirm , agree,and nothing on screen , even pushed in link button on quad.    After trying to connect , nothing in logs from craft micro card .

This was after last 1.6 upgrade tonight. This log text.

When you say no signal, you don't mean zero, you mean limited signal and keeps cutting out right, like the video you posted?
I think you've tried your hardest and it's time to send it in for warranty repair.

It just  goes to  red no signal when starting up the RC . It's like the remote is dead and the only button that does work is the on and off button.  Isn't there supposed to be a sound when the RC comes on and shouldn't the status light on RC be Dark green or red and not that cyan light blueish green that I posted above in pic of RC.  As I stated when pushing the c1,c2 video and photo wheel and restart that doesn't do anything . I downgraded and upgraded the quad 4 times yesterday from 1.6 to 1.5, rc still did same thing. No communication with quad or camera at all.

For what it's worth, I had a hell of a time a couple months ago when my controller upgrade apparently failed.  I tried so many things that by the time I was done I couldn't remember how I got it to work, but it worked eventually.  To my recollection, resetting the RC would remove the most recent update and you would then be prompted to update again via the app.  making sure you have wifi and do not interrupt the upgrade process.  I also recall instructions stating not to have the aircraft powered on when updating the RC, but I believe I did have it powered on when it finally worked.   After resetting the RC and powering on, if you click on the Red No Signal message, does it state that your RC needs updating again?

I am having a very similar problem ...  at one point I had the exact symptoms - except I do get video - but absolutely no aircraft data - no GPS strength, no battery, same led indicator colors as pictured in original posts. I have tried all of the steps in this thread. At this point I have the following conditions - AC powers up, RC powers up - green status on RC and gimbal - Safe to Fly message (still absolutely no aircraft data, No GPS levels, no home point update, etc) - then it switches to the Aircraft Warming Up mode - aircraft beeps da-da .... da-da and it continues until I get tired of listening to it. I do have a yellow flashing Exposure indicator on the top left of the video display screen. Any help will be appreciated.

I ended up taking my back to the store and they returned it for a new one for me. I was within Micro Centers Warranty period. Hopefully my new one will work out for me. Good luck,  My controller was dead and that cyan color would never go away and never would get communication with drone or camera.

I just got mine & said needed to update. Aircraft claims updated but controller still at 1.5. I'm getting the same message saying firmware on SD same or older.

That's that I'm thinking with the cyan color and others who had same problems with remote but tech won't tell you that until you try all these other things. I almost asked for a full refund but the gentleman assured me it hardly ever happens and that if I still had problems they would take this one back as well within 30 days.

It's an older firmware, but this is the tutorial I followed just fine to upgrade my new P3Pro to 1.6 then to upgrade the R/C I connected my phone to my WIFI then connected it to the R/C by the micro USB and it updated the R/C.

But that method with a USB is for the RC version A.
For version B is the only way by mobile phone upgrade.

Correct that's my understanding too now. I spent countless hours trying to get the remote off that cyan color nothing worked. Remote had no sounds either.
