Hello Everybody, I'm trying to upgrade the firmware from 1.5.0030 to 1.6.0040 on my p3p but when I insert the micro sd card and turn on the unit the phantom does nothing, just the flashing yellow lights but no beeping sounds as if the firmware wasn't in the card... when I bought it back in december did the firmware upgrade with out problems, the phantom is working fine right now, but in the app says that I need to update the firmware on the unit and batteries, any ideas?
yes the controller is off while trying the update, and the file is unzipped too, I'm doing it  the exactly same way as I did back in december but for some reason is not detecting the firmware in the card and yes I try with 3 different cards, formatting the cards and nothing.
any help will be appreciated, thank you.

     This is interesting.  Even though the update is for the P3, there are three computers involved here in the network, your tablet, the Remote Control and the P3.  If nothing is happening, it may be an indication that the RC or the DJI Go app also need updating.  The P3 will not update unless the version numbers of the RC and DJI Go app allow it to update and those version numbers are recorded in the P3 data files.  There were numerous updates in December.  What does the "About" page say your three versions are?

Please format the SD card via DJI Go App and try upgrade again . If the updating failed , please post the upgrade log in the HIDDEN FOLDER of the SD card here. The file name should be: P3_FW_LOG_AB.txt
To find the right file, please try to access the Hidden Folder of the SD card by this way:

This means starting up the RC and P3 and formatting the micro SD card with the pre-flight checklist page where it asks if you want to format the SD card.

I'm not Apple Savy but it seems like theres a lot on your card.
Try it with only the .bin file.

Ok because if it was a windows computer the address in your screenshot looks like
Untitled/MISC/P3X_FW_V01.06.0040-4.bin

When it should be
Untitled/P3X_FW_V01.06.0040-4.bin

(If your SD Card is named Untitled)

Please open that LOG file . And check if there's a text file .

     There is your problem.  Your .bin file is in a folder.  The .bin file has to be in the root directory.  Balthasar is pointing that out.  Fix it like Balthazar is pointing out and try it.  It should work.

Remember when I had that same issue, and couldn't figure it out for about one day.
Once the sole bin file was loaded into the root of the micro sd card, it was easy going, and the update began immediately after placing it into the gimbal.
Open the zipped file and extract only that bin file. Leave behind the folder, envelope or whatever the transport holder of zipped files is called. ;-)

After you get onto the hang of updates, it becomes an enjoyable experience. I look forward to all of mine...

mmmm, not sure If I understand but I think that my .bin its not in a folder as you can see in the screen shoot, is in the root directory but not inside the DCIM folder, but I can be totally wrong.   try it that way and didn't work.
ok second try is opening that bin file like this   and   both the .bin and .bin.cpgz files and nothing... then I try with only the .bin.cpgz file and nothing... so I don't understand why I was able to do the update back in december when I bought the P3 using the first method and I can't right now,(by the way same problem with my inspire 1...) I did the firmware upgrade on both of them but now I can't, out of ideas now...

I cannot open that LOG file there is nothing inside these are the hidden files and only the DCIM folder and the .bin file are in the card and as you can see the .bin file is not inside any folder is in the root directory.

Its in the correct location but what is the -5 in the file name? Mine does not have that.

I think is the number of times that the file have been downloaded to my computer... because I downloaded one more time and the latest file says -6 and the one before -4

I don't know what the -5 is on the Bin file. format the SD card again and download directly from the Phantom3 Pro page. http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-3-pro/info#downloads

Start the firmware update again, if unsuccessful here's the instructions on viewing the hidden files.

Windows system :

OK I DID IT !!! , what I did was to rename the file from  P3X_FW_V01.06.0040-5.bin  to P3X_FW_V01.06.0040.bin and voila... I just remove the -5 from the name.

and the firmware update was a success...

It was the apple download counter -5 (he tried to download it 5 times to the same location)
Might have catched that if it was a windows PC as it would have added (5) to the file name
