Hey Guys.

I am following EXACT protocol to update the firmware. Formatted through the app, connect gimbal to computer (mac), dump .bin file on sd card. Eject sd card and unplug USB.

After this process multiple times, I am not seeing ANY lights blinking. There is no red, green, or red green blinking, just nothing. Does that mean the firmware is already up to date? I got an alert through the app saying it needed an update. My P3 Advanced was just purchased on Monday. Please advise.

Go to general settings then scroll down to About and that will tell you what version the App, RC, and aircraft are on.

I am having the same issue, I checked mine and I am on the update from 11-25, not the 12-22. but when I try to update my light just stays green solid green.

Please connect the aircraft to computer via the USB port on gimbal board , see if your computer can read it . And please confirm was the RC firmware needed a upgrade or was your aircraft needed a upgrade .

Please check your firmware versions in DJI Go "General Settings=>About" .

Just my Battery, and the gimbal light was solid green, it would blink as normal the first few seconds after powering up but then went green, according to the DJI go app the software was not updated.

it is 1.5.0030, on DJI go it says battery update needed.  and if I hook the gimbal to the pc with a usb cord it does not register.  is there a driver I need?

Please try download the latest firmware and upgrade. Remember to format your SD card before that .

I have done this, about 10 times. does my computer require software to be installed to recognize the aircraft when connected with a usb cable?

No . Please check if there's anything wrong of the gimbal USB port .

There better not be, I just spent $400 to have it repaired, and got it back today! I don't know if anything is wrong or not. I can't open it up, and even if there is I should still be able to load the .bin on the sd card from the computer and put it in the sd card reader on the gimbal and have it update that way, and it is not working either!

I got the PC to find the aircraft, I had to use another usb cable, the one I got with my bird did not work, nor did 3 others, anyways, that did not seem to matter as it still will not update.

Have you tried taking the SD card out , putting it in a card reader and downloading the firmware ?

yes, I have done that too, it will not update.

when this thing went through the diagnostic and estimate stage of the recent repair, is there a way to see if the tech checked to see if the card reader was working?

well I don't think that is a problem as I took the card out while linked up and it said to put it back, I tried swapping the cards and still nothing.... I see the .bin on the card when connected with a good usb cord. what do I need to do to initiate the update? all it does is have the ground lights flashing and it makes a beeping sound ever 3 seconds.

mario, Did you see if there any log files being written to the SD card after inserting it into the craft? The log file will actually tell you if the craft is already up to date, the main log file is usually written to the same root directory you put the BIN file in. Which reminds me, do you have the BIN file in the root directory of the SD card (it should not be in any folders).  There is also another log file located in the hidden folder called  MISC/LOG folder that has a lot more detail in it as well, you'll need to make sure that your PC (or mac) is set to show hidden folders/files.  If any firmware on the craft needs to be updated (Craft, camera, etc), you'll see something like this in that hidden log file:

Now if you see any errors next to any of those devices like "no communications" or something along those lines, then you may have a hardware issue that could be as simple as a loose connector or something more serious.

Also, Is the small light on the gimble at least on? If so, what color? Any sounds coming from it?
