Hey guys,

I´m about to buy some propellers just in case, but I was wondering, am I able to fit phantom 2 vision propellers into the phantom 3 profesional ?
or I should just buy the phantom 3 profesional propellers?
(phantom 2 propellers are cheaper than the phantom 3 where I live (mexico)) haha
thanks guys !

Because of active braking, our P3s use 9450 composite hub, self-tightening props. See the correct props HERE.
The use of metal hub props or P/P1/P2 props is not recommended for safe flight.

Don't try to save pennies on the things that keep your investment from crashing to the ground.  It could work out much more expensive.

Multiple batteries are always good. And I've had over 300 flights with my P3 props and I only changed them because I was going to fly over the ocean (but I never even dinked a prop) if you have a prop strike, even the slightest one, I would throw away those props. There are inexpensive and why risk your aircraft for a $3.00 propeller.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned THESE, metal hub/thread, OK marketed here at the Phantom 2, but would fit Phantom 3. What would be the objection to these being used on a Phantom 3 ? Are the plastic threads designed to destruct during a prop strike, perhaps saving the motor/casing. Or if metal threaded props used, does this mean less friction during breaking, and a possibility of prop unscrewing ?

Except for with no local supplier I have to pay international shipping, which brings that up to $15AUD a prop.

I'm not entirely sure how they get away with it, under NZ consumer laws, they have to supply parts and consumables for a reasonable lifetime of a product.

"Except for with no local supplier I have to pay international shipping, which brings that up to $15AUD a prop."

And if you bought the ones shown in the US store you would still have to pay shipping on them. Shipping is not free on those.

"I'm not entirely sure how they get away with it, under NZ consumer laws, they have to supply parts and consumables for a reasonable lifetime of a product. "

Where is the issue? No-one is refusing to supply you with consumables?

The composite hubs of the P3 specific props have "stickier" threads to grip better and deal with the stresses that may be caused by dynamic braking which the P2 doesn't have.

The US citizens also have to pay shipping on their 3 buck props too, so it is not just you.

And you can buy your props from a number of places, even get them from DJI direct, so just buy them elsewhere.

At best you'll get 30 seconds more battery life, but it's such a close contest it's virtually impossible to tell. Changing wind speeds & direction could have a bigger effect when testing.  Apparently they shatter more easily & produce lots of sharp bits if they hit anything (like a stone if it falls over on landing).

I bought some for testing, but haven't seen any really meaningful improvements.

9450 is the size .. 9.4 inch diameter and 5 inch pitch and this size is used by both P2 & P3
To identify P3 props, look at the threaded part of the hub.
Are the threads metal? - P2 prop
Are the threads nylon? - P3 prop

If there is no local supplier, who is "they" that your local consumer laws will apply to?  Keep in mind you can't apply your NZ laws to foreign companies.
