Hi, I found a drone today. From the looks of it the crash was pretty bad . Is there a way to track down the owner through serial number registration?

If the owner didn't label it, they don't really want it very much
You could try Craigslist.

It is sort of odd that it wasn't. It appears as an expensive hobby in my world it would be hard to walk away from.

Inexperienced pilots won't label a drone, just in case of mishap... ;-)

Do you know what make and model drone it is? If it is a DJI product, then it will have a serial number on it, and if you post that number here, a DJI person may be able to find out who owns it.

All right, that's it. I just affixed some P-Touch labels to my P3A with my cell number in case my drone is ever found.

You seem like a real nice guy who try's to participate and help out when you can.   Can you do me one favor and change your Avatar.  I just find it disturbing.  I am sorry, you have had it for a while and I mean no dis-respect, it just gives me the Heb-bee Jebbies.

Thanks for the consideration,

Cheers -donnie

Hahaha, eh you must be much younger than me. So seeing your cartoon hero in his older age, could be startling.
Yes, it's time for a change, and you are only being kind in saying so... I will Definately switch it out, today. ;-)

I thumb my nose at the FFA or the FAA or the FFF. I can do this from the other side of the Big Pond.

Why don't you also post the message on Phantompilots.com, the owner might be on there, because a number of people recently lost their birds. Also,I applaud you for being honest and trying to help out someone, looks like some people here wouldn't be and would salvage it for themselves. Those people don't know about karma  !!!

haha It's not about Karma... I'm not a Buddist!!!

More like supply and demand.  If the owner comes on and sees a bird was found near where he was flying great.  The OP has done way more than 99% of people who find lost birds by coming on forum and trying to find owner.

All I am saying is if no one claims it in a reasonable amount of time and OP doesn't want it I am simply offering a salvage price for the bird.

The first thing I do on my birds is put my phone# on them with a label maker. It is  a  minimum cost of a $800 item , so thats common since in my book.

Lots of folks don't want to do this because it means you have to fly responsibly and be liable for any damage you're  miss-conduct  might bring.

I am an honest person... If that quad has a way to identify the owner I will do so. On that same note,  if that quad is responsible for  causeing  damage to my property ... I expect it to be fixed.
Honesty works both ways,

In my opinion the fact the OP is on the webs looking for the owner is (beyond due diligence).  it is also unlikely the owner will be found. I hope the OP makes a few bucks on the deal.
