I havent had a range issue yet because I am to paranoid to fly ridiculous distances. However I was thinking having a little more capability just in case the need ever arises. I see the ARGtek mod all over the place. The videos make it look fairly easy to install. No soldering. I like that. Just was wondering your thoughts on it and if there is something better out there. For $70ish it seems like a great deal.

I just bought one and have so far seen positive results.  I have included pictures to show how easy it is to install.

Also please note:
Opening up your controller does void your warranty, so the easy way is to do also is add in a nice Copper Parabolic Antenna Range Booster.

Others use cheap kinda like aluminum and that really make things kinda worse.

so that's 3.2 Km , I get 2.2 with windsurfer no problem...,
I got the ARGtek as well but haven't  ...

I would stay with the wind surfer as that is some great range. The argtek might really make you range awesome

"The following conditions must be met for warranty service... No unauthorized disassembling, modification or installation has been performed."

So yes if you change the controller you risk voiding your warranty as a whole, but it also might be a grey area and DJI might allow it, but you might want to call DJI to confirm..

Dbs all the way. I live in the mountains of Virginia and I can go out to 13500 feet with hight under 400 feet with no problems.

I don't think it's a gray area, if the RC does not work anymore and you send it in and it's been tampered with they will not warranty it.
BUT if you had a broken stick or it wouldn't charge anymore (something that obviously had nothing to do with your install than it could be warranty.

Yeah, DBS is the next one I am thinking of testing out, but it is a toss up since I have not have a need to travel that far with a standard.  I choose the cheap line so that I get a solid signal at least up to 2 miles out.
