Hi

I am trying to set up the DJI A2 with a Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal and it is not working. There is no H3-2D slider showing in the A2 Assistant. The current version of
the H3-2D GCU is Ver 1.14, when I try to upgrade to Ver 1.6 I just get a message in chinese and it will only try to upgrade to ver 1.14.
The message is attached.

Hi, I am sorry but the latest firmware version for H3-2D is v1.14. The firmware v1.6 is for H3-3D and can't support H3-2D anymore.

In that case how do I control the tilt of the H3-2D with the A2 controller?

Sorry for the mistake, v1.14 is for H3-3D, v1.6 is for H3-2D.  You can try to set the gimbal tilt and mode using the A2 assistant software.

I can't install version 1.6 as the assistant will only try to install version 1.14. It's as though the assistant software is thinking my gimbal is the H3-3D and not a H3-2D. How can I resolve this?

UPDATE: If I install the H3-2D assistant software version 1.00 then I can downgrade the GCU to version 1.00. Any later versions of the assistant software
(version 1.02 and 1.10) try to upgrade the GCU to version 1.14 which is not a valid H3-2D GCU version as shown in the release history. The IMU and CMU
have upgraded ok to version 1.8 and 1.0

Have you tried to map the controller using the A2 assistant software? And make sure the GCU connects to the CAN2 port.

The GCU is connected to the CAN2 bus. No slider shows up in the A2 assistant for the gimbal. I have tried all the other sliders e.g. the Zenmuse ones but nothing works.

Have you tried the Z15, click the channel mapping? Please provide a screenshot of your mapping.

Non of the Zenmuse channels work. The sliders move when you map to them but they don't control the gimbal.

Very disappointed so far with the level of technical help regarding this issue considering this is supposed to be a 'pro' section of the forum. Let's see if DJI can redeem themselves.

I have tried the A2 flight controller with a BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX H3-3D gimbal and I am seeing the same problem, you CANNOT CONTROL THE TILT.

Lets got through the settings>

Gimbal controllers are always connected to CANBUS 2 (and NO, not at the same time) They don't work on CANBUS 1 either.

In A2 Assistant the Zenmuse channels Tilt and Mode are mapped to 2 suitable RC channels. The sliders move fine when viewed in the RC mapping page.

When I go to Menu > Basic - Gimbal Channel the TILT slider moves in conjunction with the RC as does the MODE slider, everything is fine.

The Tilt Control Gain is set to 50, Horizontal and Vertical limit set to 15 degrees.

Now I disconnect the USB and connect to EITHER the H3-2D or H3-3D relevant Assistant Software
The software recognizes the gimbal and changes so it only shows the Tilt slider.

On changing the tilt control on the RC the TILT SLIDER DOES NOT MOVE and NEITHER DOES THE GIMBAL

The two Gimbals at all time operate normally in terms of balance.

I have noticed that the Tilt Control Gain, Horizontal and Vertical limit settings sometimes revert back to random settings on power cycling the system.

The H3-3D Gimbal frequently makes shreaking noises when powering up.

Versions as follows>

H3-2D

Assistant Software Ver 1.1

H3-3D

Assistant Software Ver 1.4
GCU Ver 1.14
IMU Ver 1.12 Hardware 11E42FD0
CMU is blank


A2 Assistant version 1.9
A2 Firmware version 2.7

As I have said let's hope DJI can address this issue considering the amount of money I have spent.

Repair of what exactly? Why does anything need repairing? The flight controller and H33D gimbal are brand new and straight out of the box! They haven't even flown!

UPDATE. The issue I am having here is down to the A2 Firmware Version 2.7. If I downgrade to ver 2.1 then everything works fine so basically Ver 2.7 will NOT work with either a Zenmuse H3-2D or H3-3D Gimbal.
